Rubén Provedo Selección Personal 2023 is a white wine conceived as a contemporary reinterpretation of the classic style of the great age-worthy whites of Rioja. It is not a single variety but a balanced blend in which Viura, at 85%, acts as the structural backbone, accompanied by 10% Tempranillo Blanco, 3% Malvasía and 2% Chardonnay. It is a wine designed from the outset for long ageing and a slow evolution in bottle.
Final production for the vintage: 745 bottles.
A wine of classical architecture, where structure, acidity and ageing are integrated with precision.
It does not seek immediate impact, but depth and evolution.
Deep golden yellow, with slightly amber reflections. Clean, bright and with good density.
Complex and deep, more evolved than expressive. Ripe white and stone fruit, with dry citrus hints. Nuts, wax, dried herbs and bakery notes appear, over a lightly spiced background and a very fine, integrated oxidative character.
Broad and structured, with volume and firm texture. The acidity holds the whole together and extends the finish. Deep on the palate, with ripe fruit, saline notes and hints of nuts. Long, dry, persistent finish, with a noble bitterness that reinforces its gastronomic character.
A clearly gastronomic wine, suited to slow-cooked dishes and food with some complexity. It pairs with baked white fish, poultry, white meats, traditional long-cooked dishes and cured and semi-cured cheeses.
Recommended temperature: 14–15 °C. Best opened in advance or gently decanted.
Built for a long evolution in bottle thanks to its structure, acidity and long ageing. It will gain complexity and tertiary nuance over time.
It will keep its balance and depth as it develops.
